Acclaimed Artist ALICIA HOBBS Returns to Art Basel Miami for 2023 Exhibit at AQUA ART
Acclaimed Artist Alicia Hobbs will be returning to Miami in December to feature some of her latest works at AQUA ART, one of the many art festival venues during ART BASEL 2023. Alicia Hobbs’s art is an intoxicating blend of realism and abstract expressionism. It's this fusion between the two genres that sets her apart in the contemporary art scene. Her unique play with light, color, and texture breathes fresh new life into classic subjects, such as Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, the many likenesses of Andy Warhol and Frida Kahlo. You can see her art on display December 6-10 at the Aqua Hotel, 1530 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL.

Where Fashion Meets Philanthropy in the Glamorous Heart of Miami

Lights dazzled, couture shimmered, and hearts warmed at the 9th Edition of Catwalk for Charity, held at the prestigious Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) on October 22nd. The affair, themed "Where Fashion Meets Philanthropy," seamlessly merged style and substance, with the spotlight on Angels for Humanity, an organization founded by the dynamic duo, Judith Joseph and Julio Hernandez.

Balmain Paris, the iconic fashion powerhouse, took center stage, unveiling its latest collection to a captivated audience. The runway was graced by the elegant presence of model Nadia Ferreira, whose every step echoed a commitment to the cause. Among the enraptured audience was the four-time Grammy Award-winning singer Marc Anthony, proudly watching his wife command the runway.

The Gala played host to a constellation of distinguished guests, including AFH Marketing Executive Officer Tatiana Teo. As the night unfolded, guests stayed refreshed with Perfect Hydration, setting the stage for an evening of glamour, purpose, and recognition.

Olivier Rousteing Unveils Balmain's Rich Heritage
In an exclusive interview with Avanti Moda's Editor-in-Chief, John Enot... Balmain's creative genius, Olivier Rousteing, shed light on the inspiration behind the Fall 2023 collection. Rousteing, whose creative prowess has breathed new life into the iconic fashion house, revealed, "When I interviewed at Balmain, my soon-to-be-colleagues explained that this was a 'sleeping giant' of a house, resting upon a wealth of forgotten riches." The collection, drawing from the house's 77+ years of design excellence, pays homage to a rich heritage meticulously preserved in Balmain's archives. Rousteing, visibly moved, expressed, "This house has the incredible luck of never having moved—so very little of an impressive 77+ years of design excellence has ever been misplaced or lost."

The runway served as a canvas where history met haute couture, with each ensemble weaving a narrative of Balmain's legacy. Rousteing emphasized the importance of acknowledging the past, stating, "Since our Fall 2023 collection pulls so much inspiration from that treasury, I wanted to give credit where credit is due."

Beyond the runway, the Catwalk for Charity Gala transformed into a celebration of philanthropic heroes. La_mamilover, Camila Guiribitey, Marile Lopez_mba, Lopez Govlaw, and Mrs. Moskow took center stage, receiving well-deserved awards for their unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes.

As the night unfolded, the spirit of giving echoed through the PAMM, marking a glamorous intersection where fashion seamlessly intertwined with compassion. The 9th Edition of Catwalk for Charity stood not only as a testament to style and elegance but as a beacon of hope for underprivileged communities in Miami, Haiti, and beyond. In the spirit of Angels for Humanity, the night proved that, indeed, fashion has a heart.

Sports Illustrated has announced the launch of its 2023 Swimwear Issue, which is set to release May 19th. The Launch (to be held for the 3rd consecutive year at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood Florida) will include a weekend-long celebration and star-studded event that will be filled with interactive activities, Instagrammable moments, appearances by many of this year's SI models and other celebrity guests, and will kick off Friday night with a concert by pop superstar Kim Petras.
This exclusive event will feature SI Swimsuit installations that showcase the latest trends in swimwear, food and drinks, as well as a chance to shop some of SI Swim's favorite items for summer from the SI Swimsuit Dream Closet activation.

Louis Vuitton showed its Pre-Fall 2023 collection from Seoul's iconic Jamsugyo Bridge
If there was a sense of unease at Louis Vuitton’s first catwalk presentation in Seoul, South Korea, it was the chill that came from the Han River, which flows through the heart of the city. But more likely it was the immersive set on the iconic Jamsugyo Bridge, designed by Hwang Dong-Hyuk, director of Squid Game, that reflected the incredible energy of the metropolis where past, present, and future coexist in harmony.

Guests, which included various K Pop stars, were seated outside, to see the first of Louis Vuitton's pre-fall 2023 presentations. The collection began heavy on leather pieces, with sporty blousons tucked into skirts being the first looks, emphasising a strong and rebellious attitude.

In place of sneakers and heels, tough biker boots were the dominant shoe, giving the impression that Louis Vuitton customers are not one to run away from any situation, but instead will own it. Especially on this windy bridge.

Mr Ghesquière is known for his mastery of retro-futurism, but this collection also included playful nods to anime, the Japanese animation style. Mr Ghesquière often incorporates elements from past eras, such as the 1960s or 1970s, and combines them with futuristic or avant-garde elements. This creates a unique and innovative style that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking, incorporating elements such as metallic fabrics, oversized shoulders, and exaggerated shapes.

The best pieces were more relaxed and less structured, with sensual yet tough layered prairie dresses and some exquisite pleated pieces that demonstrate why Ghesquière remains at the top of the fashion pyramid. The show's stunning location confirms South Korea's importance to luxury sales and LVMH's Asian strategy.
