Makeup and Skincare Tips To Keep Your Skin Healthy And Glowing
By Bianca Lomedico
Out Of Each Of The Four Seasons, perhaps the most romantic and anticipated is fall. The green landscape changes and suddenly there is a fireworks array of orange, red, yellow hued leaves lining the countryside and city streets warming up neighborhoods everywhere. Soon, evening temperatures will start to fall and we will find ourselves nestles away under a cozy blanket in front of a glowing billowy fireplace. Gone are the white stilettos, traded away for soft knit sweaters and a cute pair of riding boots! But what makes for a beautiful impressionist scene on an artist's canvas often doesn’t bode well for our skin. With a sharp decline in temperature along with humidity, and the warmth of the sun replaced with more dry, man-made heating methods, fall weather can be a nightmare for most skin types. So to help you and your precious skin survive the brutality of fall leading into winter, here are 5 essential beauty tips to get you and your skin through the change in seasons.
#1 EXFOLIATE
To save your skin from becoming dull, lifeless, and dehydrated during the fall months, up your exfoliation to twice a week. Exfoliating regularly, helps remove dead skin cells that can hinder the absorption of any creams or moisturizers. When selecting an exfoliating scrub, it is best to choose one with natural scrubbing agents such as sugar, or apricot seed powder, and are paired with a good nourisher such as Shea butter. Organics are always best!
#2 ADD MORE MOISTURE
Having a deep-moisturizing facial product in your makeup bag is one of the most important fall beauty products you can use to give your skin the edge against the harsh elements of the season. Make sure you avoid ANY cosmetics that contain drying alcohol (denatured or ethanol/alcohol), as it strips your skin of moisture and can cause it to become irritated or dry. If your skin has lost its luster, try applying an overnight deep re-nourish treatment to hydrate and bring some of that radiance back.

#3 USE A NOURISHING HAIR CONDITIONER
Your hair can also suffer when the weather turns colder and your home heating system comes on. With the decrease in humidity that the season brings, your hair can become extremely dry, making it susceptible to breakage and causing split ends. To restore some of the moisture that is lost to these harsher elements, apply a leave-in, deep conditioning treatment that can replenish lost moisture and put luster and shine back into your hair. It is best to apply a generous amount to clean, damp hair and gently work it into your hair with a comb, making sure to distribute it through the mid-lengths and ends.
#4 PROTECT YOUR HANDS
One of the most common cold weather-related skin issues is dry, cracking, sore hands. Our hands are exposed to theelements more so than any other part of our body or skin during the cold weather month. Whether it's searching for keys, scraping snow and ice off of car windows, or tapping away on cell phones, our hands are often neglect when it comes to skin care. Because the skin on your hands doesn't produce anywhere near as much natural oil as the skin areas on rest of your body, they are much more prone to dryness, especially in harsh colder
weather. It is best to use a good deep hydrating hand cream that contains good hand-specific nourishers such as Jojoba oil, Marshmallow root, or Squalane that is extracted from olive oil. And to protect your hands even further, wear a nice pair of soft-lined gloves when outdoors.

#5 REMEMBER BELOW THE NECK
While it is important to pay a lot of attention to our hair, hands, and facial skin, The rest of our body and skin needs looking after too. It is easier to ignore chapped arms and legs when they are covered in layers of outerwear, but taking a few extra moments after getting out of the shower to apply an organic body lotion can do wonders for your skin. Our old friend Shea butter is a perfect remedy. Find a light hydrating lotion or cream that contains a generous amount of Shea butter along with other natural organic vitamins and minerals that will lock in moisture and leave you skin feeling soft, radiant, and smooth.
